The Directorate of Medical
Equipment, formerly the Directorate Bio-Medical
Engineering has been created early 2001 within the
Ministry of Health plan that aims at creating a party to
be specialized and responsible for all issues related to
medical equipment. The Directorate was provided with
engineering, technical and administrative personnel that
are qualified to assume its responsibilities.
Whereas
the bodies that serve the process of medical equipment
maintenance repair are scattered among the Royal
Scientific Society, the Ministry and local agents. The
Technical Cooperation Agreement has been concluded in the
beginning of 2002 between the Ministry of Health and the
Royal Scientific Society. Through this Agreement, the
technical personnel of both parties were combined. The
Directorate now has (150) engineers and technicians
distributed on the different departments and workshops of
the Directorate.
